MiniFile

MiniFile is a device driver for Windows 2000 or later that creates a virtual 128MB disk drive. The data for this disk drive is placed in the file c:\vdisk.dat. The device driver follows the SCSI miniport model and supports plug and play, dynamic load/unload, and 32-bit/64-bit Windows. MiniFile can be installed either programmatically or using the Add Hardware wizard. The source code can be obtained from www.perisoft.net/miniport.

Install

Run hdwwiz.exe (or hdwwiz.cpl for Windows 2000 or XP) and follow the wizard. If you are running Vista or later, skip the first two steps:

From the list below, select an installed hardware device... scroll down and select "Add a new hardware device"
What do you want the wizard to do? Install the hardware that I manually select from a list
If you do not see the hardware category you want, click Show All Devices Show All Devices
Select the manufacturer and model... Press the "Have Disk" button
Copy manufacturer's files from: Choose the folder where this package is located

Windows 2000 only: if you are prompted to assign resources, select cancel and installation will complete.

Uninstall

Start device manager, select the MiniFile Adapter, and press the delete key.
